SOMBRA's Mentorship Program aims to increase student awareness, interest, and self-identity with STEM subjects and careers for high school students.

Through the shadowing program, students will spend a day or two on the job with an expert. As an observer, the student can see how the professional goes about their daily tasks to determine if the job is something that interest them. Job shadowing gives will give them the opportunity to meet professionals who do what they would hope do someday. Students are encouraged to ask questions, find out the challenges they face, and learn from their experience. Students can also get started on networking and find college references, especially if they think the career is right for them.
